My first impressions of the Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro were all overwhelmingly positive. I did find fault with just a few things, but in my opinion, the negatives are really small and the positives are numerous and fabulous.
One thing I both liked and disliked was the tools and accessories kit that came with the printer. It’s a great collection of tools – it really does have everything you need to get started. The only downside to such a complete kit of tools is that they do not all fit well in the tool drawer.
The tool drawer isn’t something I plan to access often anyway. It’s a good place to put the small wrenches and spare parts that you need for occasional servicing. The one thing that really does not fit well in the drawer is the palette knife, but since that’s something I use with virtually each and every print, it seems like it should be in a place that’s out of the way, and yet easy to reach whenever you need it.
I printed this little accessory clip, and it does the trick perfectly. It’s a simply one-piece print. You can easily modify my files on TinkerCad to build the hook right into the clip, but I decided to print the clip with a hole that is sized just right for a common stainless-steel bookshelf peg. The hole for the peg is angled upwards at about ten degrees so that the palette knife is less likely to vibrate off the peg.
I used carbon fiber because I wanted some experience with it, but the clip definitely does not need the strength of carbon fiber. You can print it with PLA, TPU, or basically whatever you have laying around.
